Overview

CIT is developing a centralized GuestID System which will allow guests to access certain web sites and services at Cornell. A guest is a person who does not have a NetID, but may require access to certain Cornell services which require authorization. Phase 1 of this system was completed in June, 2005.

Some examples of services which will be able to use the GuestID System are:

Phased Deployment

Phase 1 of the GuestID System was deployed for the Blackboard Learning System in June, 2005.

Phase 2 will enable the GuestID System to be used by other Cornell departments. Phase 2 development is largely keyed to the completion of a central authorization system which meets the requirements indentified in Phase 1.
